Quorum Today: Get Involved Now
May 4th is #QDay, a day to celebrate all things Quorum, which is an accessible programming language. Help blind and low vision students participate in robotics.
Hear what John de Lancie has to say about making sure students with visual disabilities can participate in STEM activies.
John de Lancie
John who is well known for playing the character "Q" on Star Trek brings "Q" to the fight for accessible tools for STEM and other educational requirements of blind and limited vision students. More about John Here (wikipedia) or Here At His Official Website.
Help! Here’s The Problem!
We need your help! Most STEM robotics systems and other devices are not accessible to blind and low vision students.
YOU can help by doing the following:
- Try Quorum for yourself at https://quorumlanguage.com. Scroll down or navigate by heading to “Try Quorum online!” Use the drop down menu to experience different coding examples.
- Compare Quorum to another programming language. To do a loop in Quorum is much simpler and doesn’t involve unnecessary punctuation or symbols.
- Post your support for Quorum and Quorum Lego Robotics on social media! Use #QDay and any of our other hashtags! #DOT5UDOGS #180Optimum #A11Y #CodeWithMSB. Quorum makes sense for everyone not just people who are blind or visually impaired! Help us by posting a message of support!
- Encourage others to share your post! Be sure to consider adjusting your settings (i.e. public, friends, etc.) to reach as many people as possible!
